We put the adventure in Hinterland!
In college when my parents would come up for a visit my friends would call it “Perret Family Day.” We just wrapped up Perret Family Week (also known as my Spring Break) here on the farm. My parents drove in from Tejas on Sunday of last week and my brother flew in from the Empire State on Monday. Highlights of the trip included: Cody’s ridiculously cute French Bulldog puppy, Walter; making fresh fettuccine with the pasta maker Cody gave me for my birthday; planting veggies with the whole fam; table construction and painting; special guest farm visitors (I’m talkin’ bought you–Miburns and Halls); the birth of baby bunnies; GLR pizza night; and other adventurous romps. After my brother flew back to NYC, my parents and I drove down to Jackson, MS for my cousin Evan’s wedding. Poor Geoff had to stay home and mind the farm, and it is a good thing he did because the goats staged a mutiny on Saturday morning and Geoff had to chase them up and down the ridge for four hours before he was able to secure them in the back yard. Never a dull day for poor, sad farmer Geoff.
