Who moved my Reese’s Cup?

February 7, 2011

Kentucky fun-fact #73

In Texas, the tasty snack treat in question is pronounced Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. As in the cup that belongs to Reese and is made of chocolate and peanut butter. In Kentucky, or at least the region I live in, the perfect melding of chocolate and peanut butter deliciousness is known as a Reesy cup. As in a cup that spent so much time around Reese that it took on his essence and became Reesy.

Interestingly, the lovely candy-coated peanut butter nobbins of wonderment enjoyed by E.T are the property of Reese in both KY and TX.

So the next question is: how to Kentuckians refer to carbonated, caffeinated high-fructose corn syrup? Is it pop? Is it soda? Is it coke?

Haha nice, in Arkansas (at least when my dad visited there) he said that they don’t say aluminum foil like here in Texas, they say tin foil (pronounced foal). He had a very hard time buying some because they had no idea what he was talking about.
